Hi!  My name is Sarah Montoya and I am a passionate early childhood educator with over 16 years of experience.  I have spent the last 6 years working as an integral part of a management team including as Director while raising four fun and lively children with my husband.  One of my highest goals in life is to build confidence in those around me with unwavering kindness while working with others to lay a foundation in each child's life, enabling them to grow into confident and well-rounded individuals.  My desire it to build a team that will work together effectively to provide a safe, fun, and educational environment.  Being here at Kids Cove has been a tremendous blessing for myself as well as my family.  We have a truly amazing team, one that I feel honored to be a part of.  Welcome to Kids Cove!

  • Madison McDonough - Pre-K Teacher for the Turtle Room

Hello!  I am Madison McDonough and I am a Senior at Texas State University.  I am studying to become an Elementary School teacher, which is my dream career.  At Texas State, I was a world-famous Texas State Strutter!  It was an honor to be a part of the largest four-year university dance team in the United States for two years.  Previously, I graduated from CLHS and was a member and Senior Captain of the dance team.  My youngest brothers, Heath and Caimen, have attended CLHS and are involved in many sports, including football and basketball.  My dog, Bently, is a Pomeranian and poodle mix who enjoys eating carrots, sleeping, and going for long walks.  I am very excited to be teaching at Kids Cove this year!  I am most excited about music time and anything Dr. Seuss!

  • Teresa Moreno - Preschool Teacher for the Seahorse Room

Hello, my name is Teresa Moreno and I am a mother to 4 children.  I was a school bus driver for several years.  I then tried my hand at in home childcare, receiving most as newborns and then having to say goodbye once they started school.  I did this for 17 years.  I quickly learned that every single child is different, coming from all different backgrounds and learning at all different levels.  What a beautiful and fascinating discovery that was!

I am extremely excited to now get to be a part of Kids Cove and a part of your child’s life.  I strive to be the best I can be, and I thoroughly enjoy watching children grow and learn at their own pace, so much so, that I feel it is my life passion!  Little sweethearts, each and every one in their own individual way.

  • Michelle Paty - Preschool Teacher for the Seahorse Room

Hello, my name is Michelle Paty and I am an early childhood educator at Kids Cove.  I am originally from New York State (I moved to Texas in 1994).  I have about 20 years of experience working with children including raising my own child with special needs (Type 1 Diabetes).

Children are such an amazing gift from God and I truly enjoy seeing all of their different personalities.  I feel there is great value in early childhood development and have made it my goal to provide the most help I can for each child I work with.  I am very proud of my little ones each and every day and I feel extremely blessed to be their teacher and to be given the opportunity to watch them grow.

  • Patti Johnson - Toddler Teacher for the Dolphin Room

Hi, I am Miss Patti.  Being one of 30 cousins, I did a lot of babysitting growing up.  I also helped my mom with Sunday school and VBS at our church.  I have four children; two older step-sons, my son Luke who is an 9th grader this year and my daughter Alyssa who is a 5th grader this year.  I have worked in daycare with all ages, different church preschools, and church nurseries for several years.  My family and I are members of North Shore UMC and I have been their nursery care worker on Sundays for four years now.  I look at Kids Cove not just as a job, but a ministry!  I like to plan ahead and believe in consistency.  I love being little ones first teacher and helping them work on learning their colors, shapes, letters, and numbers.  I have been married to Chris Johnson for 16 years and we have lived in Canyon Lake for 13 years.  I have been a Girl Scout Troup Leader for 6 years.  When I am not taking care of precioius little ones or helping the scouts, I enjoy working in my yard.  My birthday is November 4th and my favorite color is teal.

  • Vicki Irby - Toddler Teacher for the Dolphin Room

Hi, I’m Miss Vicki.  I recently retired from the Office of the Attorney General of the State of Texas after 30 years of service.  My plan had always been to work at a day care when I retired because children make me smile and make me so happy.  Their thirst for knowledge is a refreshing change from years of working in an office.  I look forward to seeing the children every day (and their hugs!) and enjoy teaching them and watching them learn.  I have three children of my own, Traci is 23, Michael is 20, and Cole is 19.  I’m so proud of all of them!  Traci is pursuing her Master’s in Occupational Therapy and wants to go into Pediatrics.  Michael is at Texas State University, majoring in Computer Information Systems.  Cole is at Texas Lutheran University, majoring in Criminal Justice.  He is also a catcher for the TLU baseball team.  I am thrilled to be here at Kids Cove, where I receive so much love and joy from the children and can have a positive impact on their lives.  I consider myself very blessed to be a part of this team – they are wonderful teammates!
