1 Hour Weekly + 1 Child + 1 Mentor + 1 Prayer Partner = LIFELONG IMPACT!!!

KIDS HOPE USA is part of the partnership between North Shore United Methodist Church and Rebecca Creek Elementary School. The partnership began in August 2011.

KIDS HOPE is a program that trains volunteer members and regular attendees of NSUMC how to befriend children to help each one with his/her particular needs. The matched mentor and child meet for one hour each week for at least one school year. The mentor builds a relationship with the child by listening and talking, by playing games and laughing, and by practicing reading and other academic skills as needed. The mentor serves as a role model to give the child a positive experience.

Besides Kids Hope, other parts of the partnership include, but are not limited to, mentor prayer partners, activities such as buying backpacks and school supplies for RCES children in need, designating a Communion offering to Communities in Schools, providing lunch for the faculty on an August staff development day, providing clothing as Christmas gifts for children in need through Communities in Schools, and working student activity stations on Spring Field Day.
