Marian Brackney is a Wimberley-based violin teacher who has 10 yrs private lesson experience. She has been a working musician for 16 years and many of her students have gone on to have careers in violin. She currently teaches fiddle, music theory, improv, and classical violin. Marian has recorded on over 100 albums and has shared the stage with Walt Wilkins, Susan Gibson, and Ray Wylie Hubbard to name a few. She is classically trained at renowned Violeta Smailovic-Huart and under Dr. Alan Asher at Texas Woman’s University. Also, she is currently studying for The Music for Healing and Transition Program, Inc. (MHTP).
Marian is currently the Concert Master for the Starlight Symphony in Wimberley. Her main teaching experience consists of teaching at Lone Star Music Academy in DFW for seven years where she held a studio of more than 35 students a week. In her own words, “My music philosophy is rooted in the belief that there is nothing a person cannot achieve with a caring mentor by their side. I am loving leading our praise band here at North Shore UMC. The sky is the limit!”
