REV. SHERI CLIFTON

SENIOR PASTOR


Rev. Sheri Clifton is the Senior Pastor at North Shore United Methodist Church. Prior to joining the NSUMC pastoral staff in 2021, Sheri served as Executive Pastor for Worship at Bethany and Associate Pastor of Buda UMC. Sheri is a graduate of Southwestern University and Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. She is married to Daniel and they have two sons, Luke and Zach. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking and reading.

Jimmy Adams

 Minister of Congregational Care


Jimmy brings over 50 years of experience in supervision and management to his role, grounded in his service as a lay minister. His deep respect for the contributions of every individual fuels his commitment to Jesus' commandment to love our neighbors as ourselves. In 2007, Jimmy and his wife, Janeil, moved to Canyon Lake after careers in Houston. He feels privileged to serve the congregation and community and is often found in the church kitchen, serving coffee and talking sports.

TIFFANY HODGE

ADMINISTRATOR

Tiffany grew up in San Antonio, Texas. She is married to Frank and they have 6 kids, 2 daughters-in-law and 3 grandchildren. She has an Associate’s Degree in Business Management, and loves handling the finances and working with people. Having been with NSUMC for 6 years, she has coordinated multiple mission trips to Dominican Republic and Juarez, Mexico. She is also the secretary for the Hays Praise Emmaus board.  Serving God and family is her greatest joy.

Melissa Huffines

Student Ministry Director

Melissa is from Abilene, Texas and is a recent graduate of Abilene Christian University. She is currently a resident with CYMT and attending seminary at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary where she will be gaining her masters in youth ministry. In Melissa's free time she enjoys painting, hiking, and traveling.

Kimberly Augustine

Praise Band Leader


Kim serves as the Director of Praise and Worship for the contemporary service at North Shore. Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Music Education at Texas State University, Kim brings both passion and expertise to the role. In addition to her dedication to music, Kim enjoys gardening, sewing, reading, and painting. These creative pursuits complement her commitment to cultivating an inspiring and spiritually enriching worship experience. Through her leadership, she aims to create an atmosphere where the congregation can feel the Holy Spirit moving each week.

Helen Miers

Director of Traditional Music


Helen K. Miers is a Texas native with a rich background in music education. She holds a Bachelor's degree from Baylor University and a Master’s from McNeese State University, with further studies at LSU. Helen taught music for 32 years, including roles as Choir Director at McCallum High School, where her choir won the 2015 GRAMMY National Signature School Award. Since retiring, she’s served as a consultant, accompanist, and voice teacher, continuing her passion for music and education.


SARAH MONTOYA

KIDS COVE DIRECTOR

Hi! My name is Sarah Montoya and I am a passionate early childhood educator with over 16 years of experience. I have spent the last 6 years working as an integral part of a management team including as Director while raising four fun and lively children with my husband. One of my highest goals in life is to build confidence in those around me with unwavering kindness while working with others to lay a foundation in each child’s life, enabling them to grow into confident and well-rounded individuals. 

My desire is to build a team that will work together effectively to provide a safe, fun, and educational environment. Being here at Kids Cove has been a tremendous blessing for myself as well as my family. We have a truly amazing team, one that I feel honored to be a part of. Welcome to Kids Cove!

Dedra Gayos

Assistant Director and Teacher


My name is Dedra Gaydos and I am the Assistant Director at Kids Cove. I have been in child care for over 10 years and have a deep passion for helping children grow and succeed. I spent the first 7 years as a Pre-K teacher and then the last 3-4 years I have been an Assistant Director as well as a Curriculum Coordinator. I have two children who I enjoy spending my free time with. My children love to see all the deer in our yard and neighborhood. We are originally from Louisiana, but Texas is our home now. This is such a beautiful place to raise my children. I am so excited to be here and to be working with such a great team! The environment at Kids Cove is exceptional. I look forward to making many more memories here! 

Kathy Jordan

Children's Ministry Director


My name is Kathy Jordan. I have a strong passion for early childhood education, especially early literacy. I have spent 35 years teaching special education students, reading, and Kindergarten. My postgraduate degree is in Reading Education from the University of Virginia. It makes my day to watch the children as they learn and grow. My husband Jon and I moved to Canyon Lake from the Washington D.C. metro area in 2017. We have a dog named Bluebelle, who is the “apple of our eyes.” We belong to North Shore United Methodist Church. I feel so honored to have the privilege of teaching at Kids Cove.
